What is Reiki?
Simply put, Reiki is the practice of light touch on a clothed person designed to help bring the body back into balance. Reiki works with the receiver's biofield to help bring the receiver's body back in to balance.
Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese name consisting of 2 words Rei and Ki meaning spiritually guided life energy (commonly known as Universal Life Energy), an energy which animates us all and is found all around us.
Reiki helps to harmonize body, mind and spirit for yourself or anyone you want to help.
Reiki treatment
You relax, fully clothed, on a massage table while the practitioner holds their hands on or above you. A treatment can last an hour or longer depending on the treatment required. In the western world many practitioners use the standard hand positions and commonly a full treatment is given covering all the important organs of the body.
There is no pressure on the body making it ideal for treating all ages and conditions, sometimes hands are even held away from the body. The energy flows wherever it is required and can normally be felt as a warm sensation or tingling in the body. Receiving Reiki is a very relaxing and soothing experience!
Reiki is an effective healing method
Reiki can be used for many ailments like reducing stress, relieving pain, headaches, stomach upsets, back problems, asthma - respiratory problems, PMT, menstrual problems, sinus, anxiety and many more. (Please observe that Reiki should never be used instead of medical treatment, it should be used as a compliment and a way to become and remain healthy.)
There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive a Reiki treatment. As in any healing the first step towards a healthier life is a desire to be healed.

My Reiki Background
It has been said that you don’t find Reiki, Reiki finds you. I believe that statement. My personal journey into Reiki began a few years after I had a significant loss in my life and was struggling for a way to heal myself. I investigated Reiki and soon knew this was my path. I received my first level Usui attunement followed shortly by second level Usui attunement in 2009. I chose to wait as I studied and practiced Usui Reiki before I received my Master attunement but completed that goal in 2011. I further studied and practiced and received my Master/Teacher Usui attunement in 2012. Since that time, I have had several other Usui attunements by a variety of Reiki Master/Teachers.
I then received my Kundalini Reiki Master/Teacher attunement in September 2015. Kundalini Reiki is a different form of energy than traditional Usui Reiki. This is because it combines the Kundalini Energy (energy from the earth) along with the Reiki energy.
In November 2015 I received my Medical Reiki Master Certification through Raven Keyes Medical Reiki International. Medical Reiki (TM) is the specialized practice of performing Reiki in the operating room, or other appropriate hospital or outpatient environments, in compliance with gold standards developed by Raven Keyes.
During 2018 I completed a year-long Goddess Reiki Apprentice delving deeply into the history and practices of primarily Usui Reiki. This was an honor to be part of these classes.
In April of 2022 I received training and Master/Teacher attunement in Violet Flame Reiki.
Most recently I have been attuned to the 10 degrees of Ascension Reiki and am in the process of studies in that style.
I use Reiki in my daily life from setting space in my professional setting to cooking and preparing to sleep at home. My pets love receiving Reiki cuddles.
The Reiki classes I teach currently are Usui Reiki I, II and III (Master).
